Vishay new super bright InGan technology for LED

Recently, Vishay announced the launch of a new white light, non-scattering 3mm LED - VLHW4100, the LED is optimized for high-end applications to meet the application of extremely high luminous intensity requirements. The VLHW4100 uses a super bright InGaN technology with an intensity of 4500 mcd to 11250 mcd at 20 mA .

The LED released today uses an impurity-free, colorless plastic housing and lens with a viewing angle of ±22.5° and high light output and visibility. With its high luminous intensity, the VLHW4100 can replace incandescent lamps and is ready to go into a variety of general purpose and custom applications, including indoor and outdoor lighting, outdoor LED panels, light signage, and instrumentation and front panel lights.

The device's thermal resistance is as low as 400K/W and its power dissipation is as high as 95mW. The half-light viewing angle of the device is ±22.5° . The classification is based on the light emission conditions, so that the luminous intensity and color of the devices in each package are consistent. The LED can withstand ESD voltage of 2kV , conforms to the JESD22-A114-B specification and complies with RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC.

Samples of the new VLHW4100 LED are available now and are in volume production. The lead time for large orders is eight weeks.
